Supplier due diligence
Supplier due diligence is the investigation and verification an organization performs on a supplier or partner before engaging, to establish identity, ownership structure, background and exposure to legal, integrity and reputational risk. What makes it defensible is not depth but consistency and record-keeping: due diligence with no record of what was checked, when, and with what result is, for practical purposes, due diligence that did not happen.
