Restricted-party screening

Restricted-party screening is the automated comparison of a person's or entity's identifying data against sanctions lists, debarment lists, PEP databases and adverse media, to surface matches requiring review. Its technical challenge is fuzzy matching: transliterated names, entity name variants and homonyms require tolerant algorithms, which in turn generate false positives. The process ends not at the alert but at its documented resolution.
